2025 Donations

This is what your paid subscriptions to my writing paid for.

If you’ve followed me for a bit, then you know I like to be accountable for any money earned off my writings. In my book, I committed to at least 10% of my profits for any of my work going to migrant causes.

2025:

• Monetary support of a family - Your donations have been supporting a Mexican family whose mother was shot in the head and permanently disabled by U.S. Border Patrol in 2021. To date, the federal government has not paid her a dime. This year, roughly $3,250 of your subscriptions was donated to this family.

• Water barrel in Sonoran Desert - $1,000 went to Humane Borders to save lives in the Sonoran, Arizona Desert.

• Ghost and Zoom subscriptions - about $1,000.

• Travel and hotels - The majority of my speaking engagements cannot pay for me to speak or cannot pay to cover my travel costs. A small percentage went to this, less than $500.

• Court documents and research - $250.

• Water barrel in Sonoran Desert for 2026 - I’m setting aside $1,000 for the 2026 water barrel.

This leaves me with about $500. That’s roughly 93% of your Substack paid subscriptions going to migrant causes and work documenting the abuses of the Border Patrol. This year has been the most productive since I started doing this in 2022. I could not have done it without you all.
